Why I Haven't Written...

Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since I've blogged. There's been a few things going on.

I've been a little sick lately, and last week the guy I live with took me to the vet to get treatment for an ear infection. What can I say - we Cockers just get weird problems. Plus, as I've mentioned many times, I'm old.

Well - it turns out that the ear infection is the least of my problems. The vet found a large tumor around my tummy, and it seems that I have cancer.

Please pray for me, and for my family as they face some tough decisions about me. And pray for 15-year-old Courtney, who is at camp this week and doesn't know about this yet.

Talk to you soon,

Miss Mabel

Mabel, I am so very sorry to hear about your illness. It was good to hear from you however, cuz I was startin to get worried. Please keep us posted on the cancer so that we can pray specifically. I will also pray for the little one that's away. I know God is already preparing her in some way to hear the news. It sounds as though you've had a great time of it since this family found you. I hope so. Take care of yourself and milk it while you can. Oh, I forgot, you're a cocker spaniel, you don't have to milk anything. You're just adorable and that works for you. God bless you.

Miss Mabel,
I am sorry to hear about your cancer. I lost my dog Chocolate Milk to cancer about 20 years ago. He was only seven. If you have to go now, please assure your family that Chocolate Milk will be awaiting your arrival. His spirit will be shared with your family during this difficult time. Know that it may not be easy to go through, but it will be okay. Heaven is not such a bad destination. hugs, Renee

Hey Mabel,
I'm sorry to hear that the vet says you're so sick. If you're upset about it, I'm sure your folks are too.
We humans are a weird breed. Sometimes we wonder if we really have succeeded in comunicating to our canine friends how much they mean to us. We worry about that especially when they are not well.
But I get the idea you know you're very special to them and I know they'll do the best they can for you.
Praying for you - coz God sure loves dogs too!
